Redermalization - is a procedure that renews skin cells and replenishes missing components. The main component of the procedure is hyaluronic acid, to which succinic acid is added. During redermalization, the skin is restored with intradermal injections.
Succinic acid restores energy metabolism in tissues and provides energy to cells. Hyaluronic acid eliminates skin dryness and maintains intercellular and cellular balance. Hyaluronic acid and succinic acid provide a rapid skin regeneration effect.
How does redermalization work?
Redermalization contains high molecular weight hyaluronic acid and succinic acid.
Hyaluronic acid, the main ingredient in redermalization products, is naturally found in skin cells. Its main function is to retain water molecules and regulate water metabolism in tissues. With age, these bonds weaken and the concentration of hyaluronic acid decreases. A lack of hyaluronic acid leads to dry and flaky skin, a dull complexion, and wrinkles.
Succinic acid, a component of redermalization, is naturally found in skin cells. It has powerful healing properties and does not cause addiction or side effects. When succinic acid acts on skin cells, adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is produced, a substance that provides cells with the energy they need. Succinic acid also improves cell respiration and promotes oxygen supply to tissues. By neutralizing free radicals, it has an antioxidant effect on the body.
How long does the effect of redermalization last?
The effect of redermalization lasts for an average of 6-9 months. This period depends on several factors: the physical and chemical properties of the product used, the initial level of hyaluronic acid and succinic acid synthesis in the patient's skin, and the characteristics of hyaluronic acid "consumption" (smoking, general illnesses), and the use of other cosmetic procedures to improve the result. The number of procedures, the concentration used, and the amount of products injected are adjusted individually after a specialist has assessed the condition of the skin. Usually, 2-3 procedures are required, which are performed every 2-3 weeks.
For whom is redermalization suitable for?
Your doctor will help you decide whether you are a suitable candidate for redermalization and which procedure is most suitable for you. Redermalization is most commonly performed on patients over the age of 25, but in cases of severe skin dryness, the method can be used from the age of 18.
Redermalization is recommended in the following cases:
- Reduced skin elasticity, changes in facial contours;
- Facial wrinkles;
- Excessively dry skin;
- Pale complexion;
- Pigment spots (as a complex control measure);
- Ptosis (soft tissues, e.g., eyelids);
- Deterioration of skin condition due to UV exposure (e.g., prolonged exposure to the sun);
- Stretch marks;
- Enlarged pores, inflammatory conditions;
- Scars or spots (especially after acne).
Which areas of the body can be treated?
The procedure can be performed on almost any area. It is most commonly performed on the face, neck, and décolleté.
Detailed information about the procedure
How to prepare for redermalization?
Your doctor will give you specific instructions on how to best prepare. It is recommended to avoid taking aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs, or anticoagulants a few days before the procedure, as they may increase the risk of bleeding and bruising. It is not recommended to drink alcohol or tonic drinks the day before facial redermalization. On the day of the procedure, it is not recommended to apply makeup to the treated area; the skin must be clean.
What happens during the procedure?
During redermalization, the doctor will apply a local anesthetic to your skin. The local anesthetic will numb your skin so that you do not feel any pain and the procedure is as gentle as possible. Anesthetic creams often contain benzocaine, lidocaine, and tetracaine (BLT). After about 15-30 minutes, your skin should be numb. The doctor will then use a thin needle to inject the appropriate amount of the preparation into the carefully marked areas. During the procedure, you may feel slight discomfort and pressure in the injection areas. The entire procedure takes about 30 minutes. OST KLINIKA uses only the highest quality, safe, and reliable medical preparations for redermalization.
What happens after the procedure?
After the procedure, the doctor may gently massage the skin to help it absorb the product and may also apply a cooling agent such as dry ice to reduce swelling and bruising. After the procedure, the doctor may monitor you for up to 15 minutes to ensure that you do not experience any side effects, including dizziness, nausea, or an allergic reaction. The local anesthetic will not cause you to feel tired or sleepy, so you will be able to drive yourself home. After the procedure, the doctor will provide facial care recommendations and explain the restrictions during the healing period. The doctor will also schedule a follow-up consultation approximately two weeks after the procedure to evaluate the results.
