Fields of interest: diagnosis and treatment of breast disorders, post-operative follow-up, and breast cancer. In order to improve the quality of life, he focuses on reconstructive and breast oncoplastic surgery for breast cancer patients.
Prof. V. Ostapenko has been working as a mammologist since 1978. He received his medical education at Vilnius University Faculty of Medicine. He is the author and co-author of more than 150 scientific publications, projects and the scientific monograph "Breast Cancer: Scientific and Clinical Aspects". Prof. V. Ostapenko is the principal investigator of 11 international clinical trials and the head of the expert committee of Lithuanian breast cancer standards.
He is an experienced specialist in a wide range of fields and continuously improves his qualifications, participates in national and international conferences and organizes annual conferences in Lithuania ("Modern modalities of breast cancer treatment").
