Biorevitalization – is a procedure that aims to prevent skin aging. It is based on subcutaneous injections of hyaluronic acid-based preparations, which actively promote skin cell renewal. This method gives the skin firmness and moisture, and the effects can be seen in the first few days after the procedure.
How does biorevitalization work?
Biorevitalizers contain high molecular weight hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid, the main component of biorevitalization preparations, is naturally found in skin cells. Its main function is to retain water molecules and regulate water metabolism in tissues. With age, these bonds weaken and the concentration of hyaluronic acid decreases. A lack of hyaluronic acid leads to dry and flaky skin, a dull complexion, and the appearance of wrinkles.
How long does the effect of biorevitalization last?
The effects of biorevitalization last for an average of 6-9 months. This period depends on several factors: the physical and chemical properties of the drug used, the initial level of hyaluronic acid synthesis in the patient's skin, the characteristics of hyaluronic acid "consumption" (smoking and general illness can increase the breakdown of the drug), and the use of other cosmetic procedures to enhance the result. Maintenance biorevitalization is usually required approximately 6 months after the first course.
For whom is biorevitalization suitable for?
Your doctor will help you decide whether you are a suitable candidate for biorevitalization and which procedure is most suitable for you. Biorevitalization is most commonly performed on patients over the age of 25, but in cases of severe skin dryness, the method can be used from the age of 18.
Biorevitalization is recommended in the following cases:
- Dry, flaky skin;
- Pale complexion;
- Loss of skin elasticity;
- Dark circles under the eyes, fine lines around the eyes;
- Pigment spots;
- Expression lines, nose and lip wrinkles.
Which areas of the body can be treated with biorevitalization?
The procedure can be performed on almost any area. It is most commonly performed on the face, décolleté, and hands.
Detailed information about biorevitalization
How to prepare for biorevitalization?
Your doctor will give you specific instructions on how to best prepare. It is recommended that you avoid taking aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs, or anticoagulants for several days before the procedure, as these can increase the risk of bleeding and bruising. It is not recommended to drink alcohol or tonic drinks the day before facial biorevitalization. On the day of the procedure, it is not recommended to apply makeup to the treated area; the skin must be clean.
What happens during the procedure?
During biorevitalization, the doctor will apply a local anesthetic to your skin. The local anesthetic will numb your skin so that you do not feel any pain and the procedure is as gentle as possible. Anesthetic creams often contain benzocaine, lidocaine, and tetracaine (BLT). After about 15-30 minutes, your skin should be numb. The doctor will then use a thin needle to inject the appropriate amount of the preparation into the carefully marked areas. During the procedure, you may feel slight discomfort and pressure in the injection areas. The entire procedure takes about 30 minutes. OST KLINIKA uses only the highest quality, safe, and reliable medical preparations for biorevitalization.
What happens after the procedure?
After the procedure, the doctor may gently massage the skin to help it absorb the product and may also apply a cooling agent such as dry ice to reduce swelling and bruising. After the procedure, the doctor may monitor you for up to 15 minutes to ensure that you do not experience any side effects, including dizziness, nausea, or an allergic reaction. The local anesthetic will not cause you to feel tired or sleepy, so you will be able to drive yourself home. After the procedure, the doctor will provide facial care recommendations and explain the restrictions during the healing period. The doctor will also schedule a follow-up consultation approximately two weeks after the procedure to evaluate the results.
